The Prunus Ukon Tree, standing 5-6ft tall, is a captivating addition to any garden with its stunning autumn foliage and elegant spring blossoms. Its compact size makes it perfect for various garden spaces, attracting pollinators and birds while requiring low maintenance. This hardy tree tolerates most soil types, except very wet or chalky areas, and thrives in full sun or partial shade. It is also pollution tolerant, making it ideal for city gardens. The Prunus 'Ukon' features lovely large, semi-double creamy-yellow flowers in late April and early May, beautifully contrasted by reddish-bronze new foliage. The leaves mature to green in summer and display a fiery red, maroon, and purple hue in autumn before falling. This tree has a wonderful spreading form, ideal for creating a focal point or planting multiples for a striking display. It can grow to heights of 5m with a spread of 6m over 20 years, making it a great addition to a Japanese-themed garden or a perfect gift for a new homeowner.
