Product Information

Full details

PermaJet Titanium Lustre 280 is designed for professional photographers and fine art printers looking to add a unique, metallic dimension to their work. Its standout benefit is the proprietary silver-coated resin base that gives prints a sophisticated, metallic sheen similar to silver-etching, making it ideal for monochrome photography and high-contrast reflective subjects. Users should note that because of its distinct texture and metallic finish, it requires specific printer profile calibration to achieve the best results on the 280gsm heavyweight stock.

FAQs

Is this paper compatible with dye-based inks?

Yes, it is compatible with most dye and pigment-based inkjet printers, though pigment inks typically yield superior archival results.

Can I use this for color photography?

Absolutely. While it excels with monochrome, color images gain a unique depth and luminosity due to the metallic silver base.

Does the paper have a specific orientation?

Yes, always print on the side that has the silver-coated texture; the back is usually plain.

How should I store unprinted paper?

Keep it in its original packaging in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight.

Will the metallic sheen affect color accuracy?

It can shift colors slightly, which is why using an ICC profile is essential for color-managed workflows.

Troubleshooting

Print head strikes on the paper

Increase the platen gap in your printer settings to accommodate the 280gsm thickness.

Colors appear dull or inaccurate

Download and install the specific ICC profile from PermaJet for your printer model and paper type.

Paper refuses to feed into printer

Fan the sheets before loading to reduce static and ensure the printer is set to handle heavier media.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Striking metallic aesthetic that stands out from standard luster or gloss papers
High-quality 280gsm weight ensures long-lasting, professional prints
Exceptional performance with monochrome images and reflective subject matter
Provides a unique silver-etching appearance that adds artistic value

Cons

Requires careful printer profile management to ensure color accuracy
The texture may not be suitable for images requiring perfect, smooth skin tones
Higher weight may cause feeding issues in some entry-level desktop printers

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Ensure your printer is set to a thick paper or "Fine Art" setting to accommodate the 280gsm thickness and prevent jamming. It is recommended to use the official PermaJet ICC profiles for your specific printer model to account for the unique metallic base. When handling the paper, always hold by the edges to avoid transferring skin oils to the print surface. Store your prints in a cool, dry place and use archival-grade sleeves if you intend to display or store them long-term, as the metallic finish can be sensitive to aggressive physical abrasion.
