Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
The Living and Home plant stand typically arrives flat-packed and requires home assembly. All necessary hardware and step-by-step instructions are included to guide you through the process. A basic Phillips head screwdriver is usually the only tool required.
- Unpack: Carefully unbox all components and hardware. Verify that all parts listed in the manual are present.
- Assemble Frame: Follow the instructions to construct the main frame of the stand.
- Attach Shelves: Securely fasten the five shelves to the frame, ensuring they are level and stable.
- Tighten All Connections: Once assembled, go back and tighten all screws to ensure maximum stability, but avoid overtightening.
Compatibility
This stand is designed to accommodate a wide range of potted plants. Its tiered structure allows for different pot heights and widths across its levels. Ensure your largest pots fit comfortably on the designated shelves, allowing for sufficient light and air circulation.
Care
To ensure the longevity and appearance of your wooden plant stand:
- Cleaning: Wipe the wooden surfaces with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust or dirt. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, which can damage the wood finish.
- Spills: Immediately wipe up any water spills from watering plants to prevent water stains or damage to the wood.
- Outdoor Use: While suitable for outdoor areas, prolonged exposure to harsh weather (rain, intense sun) can affect the wood's condition. Consider applying a wood sealant or outdoor-appropriate stain annually to protect against moisture and UV damage. Bringing the stand indoors during extreme weather conditions is recommended to extend its lifespan.
- Inspection: Periodically check all screws and connections and tighten if necessary to maintain stability.
