Full details

The Flair Jaxx High Sleeper with Desk is an ideal solution for students and children looking to maximize floor space in smaller bedrooms by integrating a sleeping platform, study area, and storage into one compact footprint. FAQs

Is the desk removable?

No, the desk is designed as a structural component of the high sleeper frame.

What is the recommended mattress size?

This frame requires a standard UK single mattress, but you should verify the specific maximum depth recommended for safety.

Does it include a ladder?

Yes, the Flair Jaxx comes with an integrated ladder for access to the sleeping platform.

Can the ladder be placed on either side?

It is recommended to follow the assembly instructions provided to ensure the structural integrity of the specific side requested.

What tools are needed for assembly?

Standard tools like a screwdriver and an Allen key are typically required; a power drill on a low torque setting can speed up the process but is not strictly necessary.

Troubleshooting

Wobbly or unstable frame

Verify that all screws and bolts are tightened correctly and that the bed is placed on a level floor surface.

Drawer difficulty opening

Check that the drawer runners are aligned correctly and that there are no loose screws obstructing the path.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Efficient use of vertical space for small rooms
All-in-one design reduces the need for multiple furniture pieces
Integrated desk provides a quiet, dedicated study nook
Sophisticated aesthetic with curved design details
Provides ample organizational storage through built-in drawers

Cons

Requires significant ceiling clearance for safety
Assembly may be complex due to the multi-unit structure
Not suitable for individuals who dislike climbing to sleep

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Assembly should be performed by two people to ensure safety when lifting the frame components. Ensure the bed is placed in an area with sufficient room for the access ladder and head clearance. For compatibility, ensure you purchase a mattress that meets the manufacturer's depth safety requirements for high sleepers to prevent the occupant from rolling over the guardrail. Maintenance is straightforward: wipe the frame down regularly with a soft, dry cloth to keep the finish clean. Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners that could damage the wood-effect finish. Periodically check that all bolts and fasteners are tightened to maintain structural integrity.
