This welding/brazing rod can weld any aluminium metal using propane or oxy-acetylene, allowing fusion welding of all aluminium types. It can repair aluminium cracks, breaks, radiator leaks, water pumps, alloy sumps, stripped threads, and boat propellers. The rods are portable, cost-effective, and easy to use, offering excellent corrosion resistance. They require no flux or fumes, are harder than mild steel, and stronger than aluminium by up to 4 times. Unlike expensive and difficult AC/DC tig welders, these rods melt at 380 degrees C, significantly lower than aluminium's melting point of approximately 600 degrees C. The kit includes a stainless-steel brush, a stainless-steel abrader, and 20 Lumiweld rods, each 9"/230mm long. The process involves cleaning the weld surface with the brush, heating the workpiece until it melts the rod (not the other way around), coating the surface with molten lumiweld, abrading oxides beneath the coating, applying more rod to build a bead or fillet, allowing the surface and rod to cool naturally, and finally finishing by grinding, filing, machining, polishing, painting, or drilling as needed. The rods come in a plastic tube for easy storage.
