Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Ensure your vehicle is safely supported on jack stands and the wheels are removed.
- Remove the old brake pads according to your vehicle's service manual.
- Clean the brake caliper mounting hardware and pad contact points.
- Install the EBC Yellowstuff brake pads, ensuring they are seated correctly in the caliper bracket.
- Lubricate the necessary contact points (e.g., pad backing plate edges, caliper slide pins) with appropriate high-temperature brake grease, avoiding contact with the pad friction material.
- Reinstall the caliper and wheels, torqueing lug nuts to specification.
- Repeat for the other side of the axle.
Bedding-In Procedure:
To achieve optimal performance and longevity, a proper bedding-in procedure is crucial:
- Perform 5-10 moderate stops from approximately 35 mph (55 km/h) down to 10 mph (16 km/h) without coming to a complete halt.
- Perform 2-3 harder stops from approximately 50 mph (80 km/h) down to 15 mph (24 km/h).
- Drive for several minutes without heavy braking to allow the pads and rotors to cool.
- Avoid heavy braking for the first 200 miles (320 km) of use.
Compatibility:
These pads are designed for the rear axle of specific high-performance vehicles. Always verify fitment for your vehicle's make, model, year, and trim level using the product's compatibility checker or by consulting the EBC Brakes fitment guide. The MPN `DP41193R` is specific to this application.
Care:
- Regularly inspect brake pads for wear.
- Keep brake components clean from excessive dirt and debris.
- If performance degrades, re-evaluate the bedding-in process and check for rotor condition.
