Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup Instructions
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials and internal transport fixings. Keep packaging for potential future transport or returns.
- Placement: Position the freezer on a firm, level surface. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit (at least 10 cm clearance from walls and other appliances).
- Leveling: Use the adjustable front legs to level the appliance. This is crucial for proper door sealing and quiet operation.
- Reversible Door (Optional): If desired, follow the instructions in the user manual to reverse the door's opening direction.
- Initial Power-Up: After positioning and leveling, wait at least 2-4 hours before plugging the freezer into a grounded power socket. This allows refrigerants to settle.
- Temperature Setting: Set the adjustable thermostat to your desired freezing temperature (typically between -18°C and -22°C for optimal long-term storage).
Compatibility
This is a freestanding appliance, designed to stand independently. Ensure you have sufficient floor space and access to a suitable grounded electrical outlet.
Care & Maintenance
- Cleaning: Regularly clean the interior with a mild detergent and warm water. Wipe exterior surfaces with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
- Defrosting: As this is a manual defrost freezer, periodically defrost the unit when ice buildup reaches about 5mm thickness. Turn off and unplug the appliance, remove food, and allow ice to melt naturally. Clean and dry the interior thoroughly before restarting.
- Door Seal Check: Periodically inspect the door seal for damage or gaps. A tight seal is essential for energy efficiency and preventing frost buildup.
- Ventilation: Ensure the vents at the rear of the appliance remain clear of dust and obstructions for efficient operation.
