Setup, Compatibility & Care
Installation of the NGK 48407 requires standard automotive tools including a socket set and potentially a torque wrench. Before beginning, ensure the ignition is switched off and the battery negative terminal is disconnected to prevent accidental shorting.
- Locate the existing ignition coil in the engine bay and carefully unplug the 7-pin electrical connector.
- Remove any fasteners holding the old coil in place and lift it from the spark plug housing.
- Inspect the rubber boot of the new coil and apply a thin layer of dielectric grease to the interior to facilitate a good seal.
- Slide the new 48407 coil into position, secure the bolts, and snap the 7-pin connector back into place until it clicks.
Compatibility is critical for this part; always compare the part number 48407 against your vehicle's specific engine code or consult your owner's manual. For care, keep the engine bay clean to prevent debris from settling around the electrical connections, which can lead to corrosion over time.
