Full details

The Safetots Self Closing Gate (MPN: 7274) is designed for parents and pet owners seeking a reliable, easy-to-install safety barrier. Its key benefit is the automatic closing mechanism, ensuring a secure environment without constant manual closing. A potential caveat is that for very wide openings, extensions may be required, impacting the overall width suitability without them.

Troubleshooting

Gate does not close automatically.

Check that the gate is level and not obstructed. Ensure the hinge side is not too tight or too loose. Clean any debris from the closing mechanism.

Gate feels unstable or wobbly.

Re-adjust the pressure fit screws to ensure a tighter, more secure fit against the walls or frame. Make sure the mounting surfaces are clean and even.

Difficulty opening the gate with one hand.

Ensure the double-lock mechanism is fully disengaged. Check for any obstructions that might be hindering the opening mechanism.

Gate rattles when closed.

This may indicate a slight looseness in the pressure fit. Tighten the pressure screws slightly to reduce movement.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup: The gate is designed for pressure fitting, meaning no tools or permanent fixtures are required for installation. Ensure the mounting surfaces (door frame or walls) are clean and flat. Follow the included instructions carefully, or consult the online video guide, to correctly adjust the pressure screws to create a stable and secure fit. Adjust the tension evenly on both sides.

Compatibility: This gate is suitable for openings ranging from 61cm up to 161.2cm when used with appropriate Safetots extensions (sold separately). It is designed for standard doorways and staircases. Always ensure the gate is mounted on a solid and stable surface.

Care: To clean the gate, use a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as these could damage the paint finish. Ensure the gate mechanism remains free of debris to maintain its automatic closing function.
