Product Information

Full details

The Lindy USB 3.2 Gen 2 Active Cable (8m) is designed for professionals in AV, IT, and office environments who need to bridge long distances between USB-C devices without compromising on speed or quality. It provides the rare combination of 10Gbps data throughput, 8K video support, and 100W power delivery over an 8-meter span; however, its length makes it slightly less portable than shorter, passive cables, and it requires a compatible USB-C port to function at its maximum specified capabilities.

FAQs

Can I use this cable with a Thunderbolt 3 or 4 port?

Yes, it is backward compatible with Thunderbolt 3 and 4 ports, though it will operate at USB 3.2 Gen 2 specifications.

Does this cable support daisy-chaining?

No, this is an active cable designed for a point-to-point connection. Extending it with other cables will likely result in signal failure.

Does the cable require external power?

No, the active electronics are powered by the USB-C bus of the host device.

Is this cable compatible with USB 2.0 devices?

Yes, it is backward compatible with older USB standards, though you will not achieve 10Gbps speeds.

What is the warranty period?

The product includes a 3-year manufacturer warranty.

Troubleshooting

No video signal on the connected display

Verify that your host device's USB-C port supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode and ensure all connections are fully seated.

Laptop is not charging

Confirm that your USB-C power adapter is connected to a port that supports Power Delivery and that your host device accepts 100W charging.

Slow data transfer speeds

Check that the host and peripheral are connected to USB 3.2 Gen 2 compliant ports; if connected to a USB 2.0 port, speeds will be limited to 480Mbps.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Supports high-end 8K video output for professional monitors
Robust 100W power delivery capability

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To set up your Lindy Active Cable, simply connect the host end (the end typically marked or associated with the source device) to your computer or hub and the other end to your display or peripheral. No software drivers are required.

Care Instructions:

Avoid bending the cable at sharp angles, especially near the connectors, to protect the internal active circuitry.
Do not coil the cable too tightly when storing.
Keep connectors free from dust and debris to ensure optimal contact for high-speed data transmission.
