The McAlpine Overflow Parts with Adjustable Flex (BANJO-1) are designed for professional plumbers and DIY enthusiasts who require a reliable, adaptable overflow solution for baths and basins. The primary benefit is the highly flexible pipework that simplifies installation in tight or non-standard configurations, though users should ensure their existing basin or bath diameter is compatible with the standard grid dimensions before purchase.

It is compatible with most standard overflow apertures, but always check your bath's dimensions against the product specifications.
The flex pipe is designed for adjustment, but you should minimize cutting unless absolutely necessary to ensure a proper seal.
Generally, a screwdriver for the overflow grid and basic plumbing pliers are sufficient for a standard setup.
It is durable, but you should avoid using abrasive scouring pads or harsh chemicals which can damage the chrome surface.
The product features high-quality plastic piping and a robust chrome-plated grid for durability.
Check that the washer is properly seated and the fixing screw is tightened evenly.
Ensure the pipe is not bent beyond its natural radius and adjust the pipe orientation to relieve tension.
To install, ensure the overflow gasket is correctly seated against the bath or basin wall to prevent leaks. The flex pipe should be secured using standard plumbing fasteners to prevent kinking. Compatibility is broad, but always measure your existing overflow aperture to confirm the grid fits snugly. For care, avoid using harsh abrasive cleaners on the chrome-plated grid, as these can strip the finish; instead, clean with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap to preserve the shine.
