FAQs

Does the mouse work on all surfaces?

The optical sensor is highly versatile, but a high-quality gaming mousepad provides the best performance for the 8K sensor.

Can I use the mouse while it is charging?

Yes, you can continue to use the VT2 MAX while it is connected via USB for charging.

Is the 8K polling rate supported on macOS?

High-polling rate performance is optimized for Windows systems; functionality may vary on macOS.

How do I update the mouse firmware?

Firmware updates are managed through the official Rapoo driver software suite.

What is the weight of the mouse without the battery?

The 53g weight is the total weight of the mouse including its internal battery.

Are the switches hot-swappable?

No, the optical switches are soldered to the PCB for maximum durability.

Troubleshooting

Wireless connection drops or stutters

Ensure the receiver is unobstructed and away from other 2.4GHz devices like routers or microwaves.

Polling rate settings not applying

Ensure the latest version of the Rapoo software is installed and the mouse firmware is updated.

Battery draining faster than expected

Reduce the polling rate to 1000Hz when high-performance mode is not required, as 8K mode consumes more power.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Extremely lightweight design (53g) aids in rapid flick shots
Exceptional battery life minimizes the need for frequent charging
High-end Nordic MCU ensures stable and fast wireless connectivity
High durability switches rated for 120 million clicks
Customizable button layout allows for complex macro setups

Cons

8K polling rate may require specific system optimizations to function correctly
Striking red finish may not match all desk aesthetic setups
Ultra-lightweight chassis may feel less premium to users accustomed to heavier mice

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To begin using the RAPOO VT2 MAX, connect the included wireless receiver to an available USB port, preferably one with direct motherboard access to avoid interference. Install the latest Rapoo driver software to unlock the 8K polling settings and customize your button mappings.

Care Instructions:

Keep the optical sensor clear of dust and debris using a dry, soft brush.
Avoid using harsh chemicals to clean the red shell; a slightly damp microfiber cloth is sufficient.
Ensure the battery is charged periodically even if not in use to maintain optimal lithium-ion health.
Store in a cool, dry place when transporting to protect the lightweight internal components.
