The Freefoam Weatherboard Cladding Vented Top Edge Closer Trim (FC311E3MG) is designed for professional installers and homeowners seeking a polished, functional finish for weatherboard cladding systems. Its primary benefit is the combination of a clean aesthetic edge with essential airflow, which prevents moisture accumulation that can lead to rot or structural damage behind cladding boards. While it provides an excellent functional solution for vertical transitions, users must ensure their existing wall structure can accommodate the 25mm profile depth to maintain a flush appearance.

The vents allow trapped air and moisture to escape from behind the cladding, which prevents rot and dampness in the wall structure.
While the finish is durable and color-matched, it is generally recommended to keep the factory finish as paint may not adhere well to the PVC surface.
This specific model (FC311E3MG) is designed for a 25mm profile. Please verify your cladding dimensions before purchase.
Use a fine-tooth saw or a miter box to ensure a clean, straight edge for a professional fit.
It is weather-resistant and designed to direct water away, but its primary function is ventilation, so it should be installed as part of a complete weather-tight system.
Verify that the cladding board is cut perfectly square and that no excess mounting hardware is protruding underneath the trim.
Ensure that the fasteners are properly spaced and that the substrate is sound enough to hold the trim securely.
To install, ensure the cladding boards are cut square and that the top edge is clear of debris. Position the closer trim so the vented portion faces outward and upward to facilitate natural convection. Secure the trim using appropriate corrosion-resistant fixings, being careful not to overtighten and crack the PVC profile. For cleaning, simply wipe down the surface with a soft cloth and mild soapy water during your routine exterior home maintenance. Avoid using harsh chemical solvents or abrasive pads that may strip the Misty Grey protective finish.
