Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup Instructions
- Preparation: Ensure your water supply is turned off at the main valve under the sink. Clear the area beneath the sink for easy access.
- Mounting: Position the faucet base securely onto your sink or countertop. Ensure all washers and gaskets are properly seated according to the included manual.
- Connections: Connect the hot and cold water supply lines to the corresponding inlets on the faucet and then to your home's water supply valves. Hand-tighten first, then use a wrench for a secure fit.
- Sprayer Hose: Route the pull-down sprayer hose through the faucet body and attach the counterweight to the hose below the sink. This ensures smooth retraction.
- Testing: Once all connections are secure, slowly turn on the water supply and check for any leaks. Test both the pull-down sprayer and the pot filler functions.
Note: For optimal performance and to prevent potential leaks, professional plumbing installation is highly recommended.
Compatibility
This faucet is designed for single-hole sink installations. If your sink has multiple pre-drilled holes, you may need a separate deck plate (escutcheon) to cover unused holes, which is typically not included with the faucet. It is compatible with standard residential hot and cold water supply lines.
Care and Maintenance
To preserve the sophisticated black finish and ensure longevity of your faucet:
- Regular Cleaning: Wipe down the faucet regularly with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap (e.g., dish soap). Rinse with clean water and dry immediately with a soft, dry cloth to prevent water spots and streaks.
- Avoid Harsh Cleaners: Do not use abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, scouring pads, or acidic cleaning agents (like vinegar-based cleaners) on the finish, as these can cause damage.
- Aerator Maintenance: If you notice reduced water flow, the aerator (at the tip of the main spout) may be clogged with mineral deposits. Unscrew it, clean it with an old toothbrush under running water, or soak it in a mixture of white vinegar and water if buildup is severe.
- Hose Maintenance: Periodically check the pull-down sprayer hose for kinks or obstructions beneath the sink that might impede its retraction.
