Setup, Compatibility & Care
Sowing: Sow seeds directly into well-drained soil after the last frost. Space seeds approximately 10-12 inches apart. For earlier blooms, start seeds indoors 4-6 weeks before the last frost.
Soil: Prefers well-draining soil. Avoid overly rich soil, as this can promote excessive leaf growth at the expense of flowers. Poor to moderately fertile soil is ideal.
Sunlight: Full sun to partial shade.
Watering: Water regularly, especially during dry periods, but avoid waterlogging the soil.
Care: Deadhead spent flowers to encourage further blooming. Watch for aphids and address as needed. Nasturtiums are generally low-maintenance.
