Full details

The Audioengine A2+ Wireless Powered Speakers are an excellent all-in-one audio solution for desktop use or filling smaller rooms with rich sound. They are ideal for users seeking to significantly improve their computer audio, stream wirelessly with high fidelity, or connect legacy audio devices. A key benefit is their compact size delivering surprisingly big sound. One caveat is that while they excel for desktop listening, they may be insufficient for very large or acoustically challenging spaces without augmentation.

FAQs

Do I need a separate amplifier for these speakers?

No, the Audioengine A2+ Wireless speakers have built-in amplifiers, making them a complete all-in-one system.

What is the range of the Bluetooth connection?

The effective Bluetooth range is typically around 30 feet (10 meters), but can vary based on environmental factors and obstacles.

Can I connect my turntable directly?

Yes, you can connect most turntables with a built-in phono preamp or a separate phono preamp using the analog RCA input.

How do I update the firmware?

Firmware updates are typically handled automatically via the USB connection or Bluetooth if available for your model. Consult the official Audioengine website for specific instructions.

Are these speakers suitable for a large living room?

While they deliver impressive sound for their size, they are best suited for desktop listening or smaller to medium-sized rooms. For larger spaces, consider adding a subwoofer or a larger speaker system.

What's the difference between USB-C and Bluetooth audio?

USB-C audio often provides a slightly cleaner signal as it bypasses your computer's internal sound card. Bluetooth offers wireless convenience, with aptX-HD support ensuring high-quality streaming.

Can I connect multiple devices at once?

The speakers can be paired with multiple devices via Bluetooth, but only one input source can be actively playing at a time. You will need to manually switch between sources.

Troubleshooting

No sound from speakers

Ensure speakers are powered on and volume is up. Check that the correct input source is selected and all cables are securely connected. Verify the audio source is not muted or set to a very low volume.

Bluetooth connection issues

Turn off Bluetooth on your source device and then turn it back on. Restart the speakers. Ensure the speakers are in pairing mode (usually indicated by a flashing LED) and that no other devices are actively connected.

Audio distortion or crackling

Lower the volume on both the source device and the speakers. Check cable connections for damage. If using Bluetooth, ensure you are within range and there are no major sources of interference. Try a wired connection to isolate the issue.

Subwoofer not working

Verify the subwoofer is powered on and connected to the speaker's subwoofer output. Ensure the subwoofer's own volume and crossover settings are appropriately adjusted.
