Setup, Compatibility & Care
Upon arrival, ensure your jumbo plugs are potted on into individual containers with high-quality compost before transplanting them into their final garden position. These plants prefer a sunny spot with good drainage; if your soil is heavy clay, mix in grit or sand to improve aeration.
- Initial Planting: Plant in well-drained soil once the danger of frost has passed.
- Watering: Maintain moist but not waterlogged soil during the first growing season.
- Dead-heading: Snip off faded flowers regularly to extend the bloom window.
- Winter Prep: In late autumn, apply a dry mulch around the base of the plant to insulate the roots from harsh frost.
- Long-term Growth: Expect your plants to increase in size and density each year.
