Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the longevity of your Gardner Covert rod, always ensure that all ferrules are clean and free of debris before assembly. When setting up, push the joints together firmly but avoid twisting, as this can damage the carbon weave. For reel compatibility, the matt black reel seat accommodates most standard carp reels; ensure the locking ring is tightened until finger-tight to prevent movement.
After use, wipe down the rod with a damp, clean cloth to remove any salt, silt, or bait residue. Pay special attention to the ceramic guide inserts, as any buildup can cause line wear over time. Always store the rod in a padded rod sleeve or holdall to protect the guides during transport.
