FAQs
Can I use this in my home?
Yes, the kit includes a standard power adapter suitable for household outlets, making it perfect for bedroom or cinema room ceilings.
Does the kit come with a drill bit?
The kit focuses on the light engine and fiber optics. You will need to source your own precision drill bit based on the diameter of the provided fibers.
Is the light engine loud during operation?
The light engine is generally quiet; however, it should be mounted securely to avoid rattling sounds caused by vehicle vibrations.
How many zones can I control independently?
The kit features a 4-port system, allowing for four independent zones of color control.
What happens if a fiber breaks?
Because there are 1000 strands, a single broken fiber is usually not noticeable, but you can replace individual strands if necessary.
Is the app free to use?
Yes, the StarLamp app is free to download and connects via Bluetooth to manage your lighting settings.
Troubleshooting
Remote is not responding to inputs.
Check the battery in the remote and ensure there are no physical obstructions between the remote and the light engine receiver.
App cannot connect to the light engine.
Ensure your smartphone Bluetooth is enabled and the light engine is powered on. Try restarting the app and checking for permissions.
Fibers seem dim at the ends.
Ensure the fibers are fully inserted into the light engine ports and locked securely in place; trim the ends of the fiber to ensure a flat, clean cut.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
To install, you must remove the vehicle headliner board. Carefully drill holes in your desired pattern, insert the fiber optic strands, and secure them with high-temperature hot glue. Ensure the light engine is placed in a well-ventilated area to prevent overheating, especially in confined automotive spaces. The system is compatible with both 12V automotive electrical systems and 110V/220V household outlets. Regularly dust the fibers if they are exposed, and check connections annually to ensure the vibration from vehicle movement has not loosened the fiber housing within the light engine.
