Yes, it is designed to support pollinators during its long flowering period.
You should allow for at least 70cm of spread to ensure the plant has room to develop its full groundcover potential.
Yes, this variety is bred to be cold-tolerant, making it suitable for many temperate garden environments.
Check soil moisture levels; the plant may be experiencing heat stress or lack of water in a container.
Ensure the plant is receiving adequate sunlight and that the soil is not overly compacted or waterlogged.
The shrub is still maturing. Apply a light layer of mulch around the base until the 70cm spread is fully established to block weed growth.
When planting your Groundbreaker Ruby, choose a location with well-draining soil that receives partial to full sun. If planting in a container, ensure you use a pot that is at least 30-40cm wide to allow for the 70cm ultimate spread. During the first growing season, maintain consistent soil moisture, especially during peak summer heat. While the plant is heat and cold tolerant, container-grown specimens will dry out faster than those in the ground. Minimal pruning is required; you may tidy up dead stems in late winter or early spring before new growth appears. The plant is naturally disease resistant, so no specific chemical treatments are typically required.
