PikePro - Legered Bait Uptrace

Pike have sharp teeth that can easily bite through standard monofilament or braid; an uptrace acts as an extension of the hook trace to prevent these bite-offs.

Yes, it is designed for use with heavy ledger leads, provided they are compatible with the run ring setup.

It depends on usage intensity, but it should be replaced immediately if there are any signs of fraying, corrosion on the swivels, or structural kinks in the wire.

Pike are generally focused on the bait, and the high-strength wire is essential for safety, though you can use a fluorocarbon main line to minimize overall rig visibility.

No, you must still use a wire hook trace at the business end of your rig; the uptrace provides an additional layer of protection above the hook trace.

Ensure the anti-tangle boom is properly seated and check that the hook trace length is not excessively long relative to the boom.

Once seven-strand wire is kinked, its breaking strain is compromised; it is best practice to replace the uptrace to ensure fish safety.

Check the run ring for build-up of weeds or dried bait particles and clean it thoroughly with a soft brush.
