Product Information
Full details
The Maxpedition Tactical Travel Tray is for anyone needing a secure and organized space for small valuables, particularly during travel or on a desk. Its key benefit is the dual configuration, allowing it to transform from a flat organizer to a contained tray or a taco shape, keeping items from rolling away. A potential caveat is its size, which may be too large for very compact spaces when fully flattened. Constructed from durable 1000 Denier Nylon with water resistance and military-grade components, this tray offers reliable organization.

FAQs
What are the interior dimensions of the tray when fully formed?
The interior dimensions are approximately 8.5 inches (Length) x 5 inches (Width) x 2 inches (Height).
What material is the tray made from?
The tray is constructed from durable 1000 Denier Nylon with a triple coat of polyurethane for water resistance and a final coat of DuPont Teflon Fabric Protector.
How do I clean the Tactical Travel Tray?
You can clean it with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid harsh chemicals and allow it to air dry completely.
Can I use this to carry liquids?
While the material is water-resistant, it is not designed as a waterproof container for liquids. It is intended for organizing small, dry items.
What are the dimensions when the tray is flattened?
When flattened, the tray measures approximately 12.5 inches (Length) x 11 inches (Height).
What kind of zippers and buckles does it use?
It exclusively uses YKK zippers and slides, and genuine Duraflex buckles and hardware.
Troubleshooting
Snaps are difficult to engage or disengage.
Ensure the snaps are properly aligned. If they feel stiff, a few gentle back-and-forth motions may loosen them over time. Avoid forcing them, which could damage the fabric or snaps.
Water resistance seems compromised.
Check the fabric for significant wear or damage. The water-resistant coating may degrade over extended periods or with improper care. Re-treating the fabric with a suitable fabric protector might help, following the product's instructions.
Tray does not hold its shape when snapped.
Verify that all four sets of adjacent snaps are fully engaged. Ensure the fabric is not overly creased or damaged in a way that prevents a secure fit.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Highly durable and water-resistant materials ensure longevity.
- Versatile design adapts to different organizational needs (tray or taco shape).
- Uses high-quality YKK and Duraflex components for reliable operation.
- Reinforced construction prevents common failure points.
- Provides a secure spot for small items, preventing loss.
Cons
- Can be bulky when fully flattened for storage.
- Interior dimensions might be restrictive for larger items.
- Primarily designed for small, flat items when in tray form.
Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
Setup:
To form the tray, align the four sets of adjacent snaps on the edges and press them firmly together until they engage.
To form the taco shape, align the pair of snaps located on the two longer edges and press them together.
To flatten the tray for storage or transport, simply unsnap all fasteners.
Compatibility:
This tray is designed as a standalone organizer. It is compatible with most standard bags and luggage for transport when flattened or in taco form. Its interior dimensions (8.5" L x 5" W x 2" H) determine what it can hold when configured as a tray.
Care:
Clean the tray using a damp cloth with mild soap if necessary. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners that could damage the water-resistant coating or fabric.
Allow the tray to air dry completely before storing. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
