FAQs

How long does a WoodWick Ellipse candle last?

While burn times vary based on environmental factors like drafts and room temperature, an Ellipse candle generally provides up to 50 hours of burn time.

Do I need to trim the wooden wick?

Yes, trimming the wooden wick to 1/8 inch before every use is essential for a clean, consistent burn and to maintain the signature crackling sound.

Why does my candle have black soot?

Soot is usually caused by the wick being too long or the candle being exposed to a draft. Always trim the wick and place the candle in a draft-free location.

Can I reuse the glass vessel?

Once the candle is finished, you can remove the remaining wax by placing the container in the freezer, allowing the wax to pop out. The glass can be cleaned with warm soapy water and repurposed.

Is the wax blend natural?

The candles are crafted with a premium plant-based wax blend, ensuring a high-quality, long-lasting performance.

Troubleshooting

The flame is too small or keeps extinguishing

The wick may be too long or covered in charred wood; trim the wick to 1/8 inch and clear away any loose debris.

The candle is 'tunneling' (wax is not melting to the edges)

Ensure the candle stays lit until the liquid wax pool reaches the edges of the glass, typically taking 2-3 hours.

The crackling sound is not audible

Ensure the wick is clean and free of excess soot or carbon buildup. Keep the wax pool clear of debris.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To maximize the life of your WoodWick candle, always trim the wooden wick to approximately 1/8 inch before every lighting; this ensures the flame stays at an appropriate height and the crackle remains consistent.

Safety: Never leave a burning candle unattended and keep it away from flammable objects, children, and pets.
Maintenance: Avoid burning the candle for more than four hours at a time.
Extinguishing: Use a candle snuffer or gently blow out the flame to avoid wax splatter.
Cleanup: Once the candle has cooled, remove any charred wood debris from the wax surface before relighting.
