Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
Setup:
- Ensure the rug is the correct size for your horse. A well-fitting rug is crucial for comfort and effectiveness.
- Carefully place the rug over your horse's back, aligning the chest closures and surcingles.
- Secure the front closures, ensuring they are snug but not too tight.
- Fasten the surcingles, adjusting them so they are firm enough to keep the rug in place without causing restriction.
- Attach the neck cover, if separate, ensuring it fits comfortably around the horse's head and neck.
Compatibility:
This rug is designed as a standalone winter turnout solution. It can be paired with Premier Equine training boots and head collars for a coordinated look and additional protection. It is generally compatible with most standard horse tack.
Care:
- Cleaning: Brush off loose dirt and mud before washing. Wash the rug according to the manufacturer's instructions, typically on a 30-degree cycle using a specialist rug wash. Avoid fabric softeners or harsh detergents.
- Waterproofing: Re-waterproof the rug periodically using a suitable waterproofing spray, especially after washing, to maintain its protective qualities.
- Drying: Allow the rug to air dry naturally. Do not tumble dry or expose to direct high heat.
- Storage: Store the rug clean and dry in its reusable zip-fastened storage bag to protect it from dust and damage when not in use.
