Setup, Compatibility & Care
To prepare your fabric, it is highly recommended to pre-wash the material at 40 degrees Celsius to account for any initial shrinkage common with natural cotton fibers. For sewing, use a standard universal needle (size 70/10 or 80/12) and a polyester thread. Because flannel has a nap, ensure all your pattern pieces are oriented in the same direction to keep the check pattern and the brushed texture consistent across the finished garment. For pressing, use a steam iron on a cotton setting, but be careful not to crush the brushed fibers with excessive pressure.
