The LEGO Super Mario Donkey Kong Arcade (72051) is a nostalgic, highly detailed display model designed for adult fans of classic video games and LEGO building enthusiasts. It offers the unique benefit of a functional, mechanical barrel-circulating system that brings the iconic 1981 arcade experience to life on your shelf. While it provides an incredibly rewarding 1,371-piece build, it is intended primarily as a sophisticated display piece rather than a toy, requiring careful handling of its complex internal movement mechanisms.

This set is primarily designed as a standalone static and mechanical display piece and does not include electronic components like the standard LEGO Super Mario digital figures.
The set contains 1,371 individual LEGO pieces.
Yes, you can order specific replacement parts through the official LEGO customer service website using the set number 72051.
No, the barrel-circulating mechanism is entirely mechanical and does not require batteries.
While targeted at adult collectors, it is generally suitable for experienced builders aged 18 and up due to the complexity of the internal gears.
The set uses a combination of high-quality printed elements and stickers to achieve the authentic arcade cabinet look.
Check the internal track for any misaligned bricks or stray pieces and ensure the gears are rotating freely without friction.
Verify that all Technic pins and axles involved in the lever assembly are fully seated and that no bricks are rubbing against the moving parts.
Building this set requires a flat, clean workspace and a few hours of dedicated time due to the 1,371-piece count. Ensure all bags are opened in sequence as instructed in the included manual to avoid missing small mechanical components. For long-term care, keep the set out of direct sunlight to prevent plastic discoloration. Dust the model periodically using a soft, dry brush to prevent debris from falling into the internal barrel track, which could obstruct the mechanism. If you decide to move the model, support it from the base, as the top-heavy structure and internal linkages are delicate.
