The Alliance Remedial Land Drain Filter Sleeve is an essential solution for contractors and DIY homeowners looking to protect their underground drainage systems from premature failure caused by silt and sand buildup. By wrapping your perforated drainage pipe in this high-quality knitted geotextile fabric, you ensure consistent water flow and long-term permeability in various soil types; however, it is important to note that this product is designed specifically for perforated pipe protection and is not a substitute for structural piping support.

No, this specific sleeve is designed for 80mm pipes. Using it on larger pipes will result in an improper fit.
This sleeve is intended specifically for perforated pipes to prevent silt ingress; it provides no benefit to solid, non-perforated pipes.
The material is made from durable geotextile fabric designed to resist rot and biological degradation when buried underground.
It is recommended to secure the ends with a cable tie or tape to ensure the sleeve does not slide off during the backfilling process.
The sleeve is excellent at stopping sand and silt, but extremely fine clay may pass through. Proper selection of backfill aggregate is recommended for clay-heavy soils.
Ensure the pipe perforations are not catching the fabric by compressing the sleeve slightly to create slack during the application process.
Verify that your pipe is a standard 80mm diameter; if the sleeve remains loose, use cable ties at intervals to secure it against the pipe wall.
Check the surrounding backfill material to ensure it is not excessively muddy or composed of clay that may have blinded the fabric surface.
Installation is straightforward. Begin by unrolling your 80mm perforated pipe and sliding the sleeve over the end like a sock. Gently pull the fabric along the length of the pipe, ensuring there are no large twists or gaps. If joining two pipes, ensure the sleeve covers the joint or use appropriate external couplers before applying the sleeve over the connection. When backfilling, ensure that the surrounding material is clean aggregate or shingle to further optimize the filtration performance. No specific care is required once installed, as the material is chemically inert and rot-resistant.
