Product Information

Full details

The Kondor Blue Anti Twist NATO Clamp is designed for filmmakers and content creators needing a secure and versatile way to attach NATO rail accessories to their camera rigs. Its primary benefit is the quick, tool-less attachment and the added security of anti-twist pins, preventing accidental loosening. A potential consideration is its reliance on a NATO rail for attachment, meaning the accessory itself must have a NATO rail or be adapted to one. This clamp offers a lightweight, durable, and low-profile solution for expanding your camera setup.

FAQs

What material is the clamp made of?

The clamp is constructed from aerospace-grade aluminum.

Does this clamp work with all camera cages?

It works with any camera cage that has a standard NATO rail or compatible 1/4-20 threaded mounting points.

How do the anti-twist pins work?

The pins fit into corresponding slots on a NATO rail, preventing rotational movement and accidental loosening of the clamp.

Can I attach accessories that don't have a NATO rail?

This clamp is specifically designed for NATO rail accessories. You would need an adapter to attach non-NATO accessories.

What is the weight of the clamp?

The clamp weighs approximately 0.1 pounds.

Is the thumb screw removable?

The locking thumb screw is a fixed part of the clamp and is not designed to be removed.

Troubleshooting

Clamp is loose on the NATO rail

Ensure the blue locking thumb screw is fully tightened. Check that the anti-twist pins are properly seated in their corresponding slots on the NATO rail.

Clamp won't attach to a surface with a 1/4-20 thread

Verify that the threaded hole on your rig is clean and free of debris. Ensure the clamp's 1/4-20 bolt is correctly aligned before attempting to screw it in.

Anti-twist pins are difficult to remove or insert

Gently wiggle the pins while applying steady pressure. Ensure there is no foreign material obstructing the pinholes or slots. If persistent, contact customer support.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Durable and lightweight aluminum construction.
  • Secure attachment with anti-twist pins.
  • Quick and tool-less mounting and dismounting.
  • Low profile design that doesn't add significant bulk.
  • Versatile for attaching various NATO rail accessories.

Cons

  • Requires a NATO rail on the accessory or a NATO rail adapter.
  • The 1/4-20 bolt requires a compatible threaded hole for direct mounting.
  • Thumb screw might be less secure than a hex bolt in extreme vibration environments (though anti-twist pins mitigate this).

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup:

  1. Identify a suitable mounting point on your camera rig, such as a 1/4-20 threaded hole or a NATO rail.
  2. If mounting directly to a surface, insert the clamp's 1/4-20 bolt into the threaded hole and tighten securely.
  3. If attaching to a NATO rail, slide the clamp onto the rail and tighten the blue locking thumb screw.
  4. Ensure the anti-twist pins are engaged with their corresponding slots on the NATO rail for maximum security.

Compatibility:

  • Compatible with any standard NATO rail.
  • Can be mounted to any surface with a 1/4-20 threaded hole.
  • Designed for use with accessories that feature a NATO rail.

Care:

  • Wipe clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Periodically check the tightness of the mounting bolt and thumb screw to ensure secure attachment.
