Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Identify areas in your garden that are particularly prone to slug and snail damage.
- Dig a small hole in the soil at the desired location, ensuring the rim of the trap will be level with or slightly below ground level.
- Place the Harbour Housewares Slug & Snail Beer Trap into the hole.
- Pour beer into the trap. Standard lager or ale works well; the specific type is not critical.
- Replace the lid securely.
- Repeat for other affected areas, placing traps approximately 1 meter apart.
Compatibility:
These traps are compatible with any standard beer or alcoholic beverage as bait. They are suitable for use in vegetable gardens, flower beds, allotment plots, and around potted plants.
Care:
To ensure maximum and ongoing performance, the traps must be checked, emptied, and refilled regularly. Depending on weather conditions and pest activity, this may be necessary every 2-3 days. Clean the traps periodically with water to remove any residue and maintain their effectiveness. Store dry when not in use.
