Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Drill Hole: Drill an appropriately sized hole in the material for the insert. Consult manufacturer specifications for the exact drill bit size for your material.
- Insert Placement: Place the threaded insert into the prepared hole. Ensure it is seated correctly and flush if required.
- Installation: Use a specialized thread repair tool, rivet gun with appropriate mandrel, or other suitable insertion method to expand the insert and secure it within the material. For splined inserts, ensure the splines bite into the material.
Compatibility:
- Compatible with M5 screws.
- Suitable for materials such as plastics, composites, wood, and some soft metals.
- Ensure the material thickness is sufficient to accommodate the insert length.
Care:
These inserts are a consumable item and do not require maintenance after installation. Once properly installed, they are designed to provide a lasting thread. Protect the installed insert from excessive force that could compromise the material around it.
