Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
Connecting the cable is straightforward: simply plug the USB Type-C connector into the corresponding ports on your devices. For optimal performance, ensure that both your host device (e.g., computer, laptop) and the peripheral device (e.g., external drive, dock, monitor) support USB4 or Thunderbolt 3/4 standards and the desired features (like 40Gbps data or 240W PD).
Compatibility:
- Host Devices: Compatible with any device featuring a USB Type-C port that supports USB4, Thunderbolt 3, Thunderbolt 4, USB 3.2 Gen 2x2, USB 3.2 Gen 2, USB 3.2 Gen 1, or USB 2.0.
- Peripheral Devices: Compatible with devices featuring a USB Type-C port that supports USB4, Thunderbolt 3, Thunderbolt 4, USB 3.2 Gen 2x2, USB 3.2 Gen 2, USB 3.2 Gen 1, or USB 2.0.
- DisplayPort Alt-Mode: To use video output functionality, the USB Type-C port on your source device *must* support DisplayPort Alt-Mode.
- Power Delivery: To achieve charging speeds up to 240W, both the device and the power source (charger/port) must support the USB PD 3.1 Extended Power Range (EPR) standard.
Care:
- Avoid bending the cable sharply or excessively.
- Keep connectors clean; use a dry, soft brush or compressed air if necessary.
- Protect the cable from extreme temperatures and moisture.
- Store the cable neatly when not in use to prevent tangles and damage.
