Setup, Compatibility & Care
Scotia beading is compatible with most flooring types and skirting boards. The key to successful setup is careful measurement and cutting.
- Preparation: Measure the length of the area where you intend to install the beading.
- Cutting: Cut the Scotia to the required length using a saw. Mitre cuts are needed for corners.
- Installation: Use pins, screws, or adhesive to attach the Scotia to the skirting board and floor.
- Finishing: Lightly sand the Scotia before applying wood stain, varnish, or lacquer to protect the wood and achieve the desired look.
Care: To maintain the Scotia beading, regularly dust it with a soft cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners that could damage the finish. If the finish is damaged, lightly sand the affected area and reapply the finish.
