FAQs
Can I move the wardrobe once it is assembled?
It is best to empty the wardrobe of all items before moving it to prevent putting stress on the connectors or bending the frame.
Is the fabric cover removable?
Yes, the cover is designed to slide off the frame for easy cleaning or if you prefer to use the unit as an open-air closet.
What is the total weight capacity of the unit?
The hanging rail supports 15kg, and each shelf supports up to 5kg. Ensure you do not exceed these individual limits.
Does this product require tools for assembly?
No, the Mccaffery Portable Wardrobe is designed for tool-free assembly using a snap-fit connector system.
Can the wardrobe be used in a damp area like a basement?
It is recommended for indoor use in dry, climate-controlled environments. Avoid extreme humidity to protect both the fabric cover and the metal components.
Troubleshooting
The unit feels unstable or wobbly
Check that all metal tubes are fully seated within the plastic connectors and ensure the wardrobe is positioned on a level floor surface.
The cover is difficult to zip up
Ensure the frame is square and not leaning. If the frame is shifted, the tension on the fabric cover may make zipping difficult.
Metal tubes are bending under load
Reduce the weight of stored items. Remember that shelves are limited to 5kg each and the hanging rail to 15kg.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
Assembly is straightforward: ensure all metal tubes are fully inserted into the reinforced plastic connectors until they click or sit flush. Before loading, verify the wardrobe is placed on a level floor surface to prevent wobbling. For long-term care, wipe the metal tubes with a dry cloth periodically to prevent dust buildup, and spot-clean the fabric cover with a damp cloth if necessary; do not use harsh chemicals or machine wash the cover. Always install the provided anti-tip kit, especially in homes with children or pets, by securing the strap to a wall stud.
