FAQs

What grit is this pack of Evolution File Sander Belts?

This pack contains 100-grit sanding belts.

What materials are these belts suitable for?

These belts are designed for sanding plastics and acrylics.

Can I use these belts with other brands of file sanders?

No, these belts are specifically designed for the Evolution Precision File Sander and may not fit or perform correctly with other models.

How many belts are included in this pack?

This pack includes three (3) Evolution File Sander Belts.

What is the purpose of 100-grit sandpaper?

100-grit sandpaper is considered medium grit. It's useful for removing material, smoothing rough surfaces, and preparing materials for finer sanding stages.

How often should I replace the sanding belts?

Sanding belts are consumables. Replace them when they become dull, torn, or no longer effectively remove material. Performance degradation is the primary indicator for replacement.

Are there other grit options available for the Evolution Precision File Sander?

Yes, Evolution also offers file sander belts in other grits, such as 80 and 120, for different sanding needs.

Troubleshooting

Belt not tracking straight

Check belt tension and ensure it is properly seated on the drums. Refer to the Evolution Precision File Sander manual for tracking adjustment if available.

Sanding is uneven

Ensure the belt is correctly installed and that the material is held steady. Check if the belt is worn out and needs replacement.

Belt slips off the sander

Verify that the belt tension is adequate and that the belt is correctly aligned on the drums. Ensure the sander's housing is not obstructed.

Cons

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup:

  1. Ensure the Evolution Precision File Sander is unplugged.
  2. Open the belt tension lever on the file sander.
  3. Remove any old or worn-out sanding belt.
  4. Place the new Evolution Filesandp100 belt onto the drive and idler drums, ensuring the grit side faces the work surface.
  5. Close the belt tension lever firmly.
