FAQs
What are the dimensions of the doormat?
The doormat measures 60cm in width, 40cm in depth, and is 2cm in height.
Is this doormat suitable for heavy rain?
The coir material absorbs water well, but prolonged soaking is not recommended. It is best suited for moderate moisture and provides a barrier against tracked-in water and dirt.
Can I use this doormat indoors?
Yes, this doormat is suitable for indoor use, particularly in entrance hallways, to help capture dirt and moisture before it spreads further into the home.
How do I clean mud off the mat?
Shake the mat outdoors to remove loose mud, then use a stiff brush to scrub away any remaining dirt. Allow it to air dry completely.
Does the bow detail detach?
The bow detail is part of the design and is not intended to be detached.
Are there other colors or designs available?
Yes, Melody Maison offers this doormat in other colors and designs, including more Christmas-themed options, to suit various decor styles.
Troubleshooting
Mat is not lying flat
Roll the mat tightly in the opposite direction for a few hours, or place heavy objects on the edges overnight to help it settle flat.
Excessive shedding of coir fibers
This is normal for new coir mats. Shake the mat outdoors regularly. Shedding should decrease significantly after the first few weeks of use.
Mat is slipping on the floor
Ensure the floor surface beneath the mat is clean and dry. The PVC backing provides grip, but a wet or dirty surface can reduce its effectiveness.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Enhances home entrance with a festive and welcoming look.
- Effectively cleans shoes and absorbs moisture, keeping interiors cleaner.
- Durable construction designed for regular use.
- Provides a non-slip surface for safety.
Cons
- The festive design might be most suitable for seasonal use.
- Coir material can shed slightly when new.
- May not be suitable for very heavy foot traffic areas over the long term.
Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: This doormat comes fully assembled and ready for immediate use. Simply place it on your desired entranceway floor. Ensure the surface underneath is dry and clean for optimal grip.
Compatibility: Suitable for most outdoor and indoor entrance areas, including porches and hallways. The PVC backing is generally compatible with most common flooring types. It is recommended for use in areas with moderate foot traffic.
Care: To clean, shake the mat vigorously outdoors to remove loose dirt and debris. For more stubborn dirt, you can use a stiff brush. If necessary, the mat can be wiped with a damp cloth. Avoid soaking the mat or using harsh chemical cleaners, as this may damage the coir and backing.
