Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Adjusting the Interpupillary Distance (IPD): Adjust the distance between the eyepieces by gently folding or unfolding the binoculars until you see a single, circular image.
- Focusing: Use the central focusing wheel to bring distant objects into sharp focus. Adjust the diopter (usually located on the right eyepiece) for individual eye correction.
- Eyecups: Twist the eyecups up or down to adjust the eye relief for comfortable viewing, especially if you wear glasses.
Compatibility
The Leica Ultravid 8x20 is designed to be compatible with a wide range of users, including those who wear glasses. The adjustable eyecups and interpupillary distance ensure a comfortable and customized viewing experience.
Care
- Cleaning: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to clean the lenses. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. For tougher stains, use a lens cleaning solution.
- Storage: Store the binoculars in their carrying case when not in use to protect them from dust, moisture, and impact.
- Avoid Extreme Temperatures: Prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures can affect the performance of the binoculars. Store them in a moderate environment.
- Water Exposure: While waterproof, thoroughly dry the binoculars if they get wet before storing them.
