RIO Powerflex Ultra Shooting Line

The RIO Powerflex Ultra Shooting Line is available in multiple breaking strains, 25lb, 30lb, 35lb and 50lb. Choose the breaking strain that best matches the species you are targeting and your rod weight.

While the RIO Powerflex Ultra Shooting Line is designed primarily for Spey and switch rods, it may be used with a single-handed rod, though performance may vary. Best results are usually achieved using this line on rods it was designed for.

Store the shooting line in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Avoid storing it tightly coiled for extended periods.

The lifespan of the shooting line depends on frequency of use and care. Inspect the line regularly for any signs of wear and tear, such as cracks or abrasions. Replace the line if necessary.

For connecting the shooting line to your backing and shooting head, use loop-to-loop connections or nail knots for the best results.

The Powerflex core provides a medium-stiff base for the shooting line. This promotes excellent shootability and responsiveness, allowing for longer casts and better performance.

Ensure the line is properly spooled on the reel, and check for any obstructions in the guides. Practice line management techniques, such as stripping line smoothly and avoiding excessive slack.

Stretch the line before use to reduce memory. Periodically stretch the line during your fishing day.
