Full details

The Carp Life 60lb Carp Fishing Scales are designed for dedicated carp anglers who prioritize precise weighing and long-term reliability in the field. FAQs

Are these scales digital or analog?

These are traditional analog scales featuring a high-precision mechanical dial.

Do I need to calibrate these scales often?

Mechanical scales are very stable, but you should check the zero alignment before every weigh-in.

What is the smallest weight increment these can measure?

The scales measure in 2oz increments.

Can these be used in saltwater?

While they feature stainless steel hardware, they are designed primarily for freshwater carp angling and should be rinsed and dried thoroughly if exposed to salt.

Does the scale come with a warranty?

The scales are built to professional standards; contact the retailer or Carp Life for specific warranty information regarding your purchase.

Troubleshooting

Dial does not return to zero when empty

Adjust the quick zero knob at the top of the scale until the needle aligns perfectly with zero.

Weight seems inaccurate

Verify that the hook is not obstructed and check that the scales are hanging perfectly vertical.

Difficulty reading the dial in the dark

The dial is high-contrast, but using a dim headlamp angled from the side helps reduce glare on the polycarbonate lens.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Proven accuracy and British engineering by Reuben Heaton
Extremely durable polycarbonate construction
No battery required for operation
Includes a high-quality, protective padded camo pouch
Corrosion-resistant stainless steel components

Cons

Analog dial is less precise than digital scales for fractional weights
Cannot be switched between kilograms and pounds
Requires manual adjustment for the weight of your sling

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure your scales maintain their precision over time, avoid dropping the unit on hard surfaces. Always store the scales in the included Eclipse Camo Pouch when not in use to prevent dirt or debris from entering the dial housing. Compatibility is universal; the stainless steel hook is designed to fit the webbing loops on most standard carp weigh slings. If the scales are used in heavy rain, wipe the polycarbonate body down with a soft, dry cloth before storing them in the pouch to prevent moisture buildup inside the casing.
