Motul Motylgear 75W90 Technosynthese Gear Oil - 2 x 1L
Technosynthese lubricant for a better resistance at high temperature and longer life time. Suitabl...Technosynthese lubricant for a better resistance at high temperature and longer life time. Suitable for all mechanical transmissions, synchronised or non-synchronised gearboxes, gearbox/differential, transfer gearboxes, and hypoid differentials without limited slip systems operating under shocks, heavy loads, and low revolution speed, or moderate loads and high revolution speed. The SAE 90 grade at hot temperature provides outstanding oil film resistance and reduces transmission noise. It offers very high lubricating power that decreases friction and wear, and remains fluid at low temperatures to allow easier gear shifting when the gearbox is cold. Requires less effort on the gear lever for shifting. Specially recommended for gearboxes that are difficult to shift and noisy gearboxes. API Standards: API GL-4/GL-5. OEM Approvals: MIL-L-2105D.

FAQs
What is the primary benefit of using Motul Motylgear 75W90?
The primary benefit is enhanced protection and longevity for manual transmissions, especially under high temperatures and heavy loads, while also improving gear shifting.
Can I use this oil in my limited-slip differential?
No, this product is specifically not designed for limited-slip differentials. Using it in such systems can lead to improper function and potential damage.
What does 'Technosynthese' mean?
Technosynthese indicates that the lubricant is a blend of synthetic and mineral base oils, offering a balance of performance and cost-effectiveness.
How often should I change this gear oil?
It is recommended to follow your vehicle manufacturer's specified service interval for gear oil changes. For severe usage, consider changing it more frequently.
Is this oil suitable for all types of manual gearboxes?
Yes, it is suitable for a wide range, including synchronised and non-synchronised gearboxes, differentials, and transfer cases, provided they do not have limited-slip systems.
What is the significance of the SAE 90 grade at hot temperature?
This means that at operating temperature, the oil has a viscosity equivalent to SAE 90, providing a strong oil film to protect components and reduce noise under load.
Will this oil help if my gearbox is hard to shift when cold?
Yes, the formulation remains fluid at low temperatures, which significantly improves gear shifting ease and smoothness when the gearbox is cold.
Troubleshooting
Gear shifting is still difficult after oil change.
Ensure the correct oil viscosity and type were used. Verify that the transmission synchronizers are not worn beyond repair. Check for any binding in the clutch or shift linkage.
Transmission is unusually noisy.
Confirm the oil level is correct. Check for excessive wear in gears or bearings. The SAE 90 grade at hot temperature is designed to reduce noise, but severe internal damage may still cause noise.
Oil leak detected.
Inspect drain and fill plugs for tightness. Check seals and gaskets for wear or damage and replace as necessary.
Oil appears milky or foamy.
This may indicate water contamination. Check for leaks from coolant or other sources entering the transmission. If contamination is severe, the transmission may require flushing and refilling.
Pros and Cons
Pros
Offers excellent protection against wear and tear, even under heavy loads.
Improves the ease and smoothness of gear shifting, especially in cold weather.
Provides long-lasting lubrication due to its stable formulation.
Reduces transmission noise for a quieter driving experience.
Compatible with a wide array of transmission types.
Cons
Not suitable for use in limited-slip differentials.
Requires careful application to ensure proper sealing and prevent leaks.
May require a specific procedure for draining and refilling compared to conventional oils.
Setup, Compatibility & Care
Compatibility:
Suitable for all mechanical transmissions, synchronised or non-synchronised gearboxes, gearbox/differential, transfer gearboxes, and hypoid differentials without limited slip systems.
Meets API GL-4/GL-5 standards and MIL-L-2105D.
Setup:
Ensure the vehicle is on a level surface.
Locate the transmission fluid drain plug and fill plug.
Drain the old fluid completely.
Remove the fill plug and add the recommended amount of Motul Motylgear 75W90 using a suitable transfer pump.
Replace the fill plug securely.
Check the level by ensuring fluid is just starting to seep from the fill hole.
Care:
Regularly inspect for leaks around seals and plugs.
Change the fluid according to the vehicle manufacturer's recommended service interval or more frequently if subjected to severe operating conditions.
Store the lubricant in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
