FAQs

Do I need to prime the surface before painting?

No primer is typically required, but always ensure the surface is clean and properly prepared.

How many coats of paint will I need?

Full visual coverage may require more than one coat, depending on the desired effect and the surface. Apply multiple thin coats rather than one thick coat.

What kind of sealant should I use?

Choose a clear sealant specifically designed for chalk paint. Follow the sealant manufacturer's instructions for application.

Can I use this paint on outdoor furniture?

It is recommended for interior furniture only.

How do I clean my paintbrushes after use?

Clean your brushes with water immediately after use. Soap and water are sufficient.

Is the paint safe for use on children's toys?

Yes, it is EN71-3 certified, making it safe for use on children's toys.

What is the coverage of the paint?

A 750ml tin will provide a coat of up to 8m².

Troubleshooting

Paint is not adhering properly.

Ensure the surface is clean, degreased, and lightly sanded if necessary. Allow each coat to dry fully before applying the next.

Uneven finish or brushstrokes visible.

Apply the paint in thin, even coats and use a high-quality brush or a suitable applicator. Lightly sand between coats if needed.

Paint is chipping or peeling.

Ensure proper surface preparation. Apply a sealant to protect the painted surface. Avoid excessive abrasion.

Coverage is not as expected.

Porous surfaces require additional coats. Ensure you have enough paint for the entire project and consider intermixing batches for consistent colour.
