The Maxell CD-R 80XL 52x 100 Pack is designed for users needing reliable, high-capacity storage for data, music, or archival purposes. Its key benefit is the write-once format, ensuring data integrity for important files, with a 52x write speed for efficient burning. A potential caveat is the non-rewritable nature of CD-Rs, making them unsuitable for frequent data updates.

CD-R (Recordable) discs can be written to only once, after which the data is permanent. CD-RW (ReWritable) discs can be erased and rewritten multiple times.
Many DVD players are backward compatible and can read CD-R discs. However, compatibility is not guaranteed and depends on the specific DVD player model.
When stored properly in a cool, dry environment away from light, CD-R discs can retain data for many years, often a decade or more. The 'extra protection' feature enhances this longevity.
52x represents the maximum data transfer rate. A 1x speed for CD-ROM is 150 KB/s. Therefore, 52x speed translates to approximately 7,800 KB/s (or 7.8 MB/s) for burning.
Yes, these discs are suitable for backing up important data, especially if you want a permanent, unalterable record. However, for frequently changing data, a rewritable medium or other backup solutions might be more practical.
The 'extra protection' refers to enhancements in the disc's material and manufacturing process designed to improve durability and resistance to environmental factors like UV light, thereby extending the lifespan of the recorded data.
The spindle case is excellent for convenient access and protection against dust during regular use. For very long-term archival storage, transferring discs to individual jewel cases may offer superior protection against physical damage.
Ensure the disc is inserted correctly. Try cleaning the disc surface. Test with another known-good disc to rule out drive issues. Verify the drive supports CD-R media.
Close all other applications to free up system resources. Ensure the burning software is up-to-date. Lower the burn speed in the software settings. Clean the laser lens of the optical drive.
Check if the CD player is compatible with CD-R media. Ensure the disc was burned at a compatible speed for the player. Re-burn the disc if possible, possibly at a lower speed.
This is rare with proper storage. Ensure discs are stored away from heat, humidity, and direct sunlight. Consider re-archiving critical data onto new media if corruption is suspected.
Setup: No setup is required for the discs themselves. Ensure your CD or DVD burner drive is functioning correctly and has the latest firmware updates for optimal compatibility.
Compatibility: These CD-R discs are compatible with most CD-ROM drives, CD-R/RW drives, and CD/DVD players that support the CD-R format. They are specifically designed for 120mm discs.
