Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Ensure you have a level and stable base for the pergola, such as a patio or prepared ground.
- Unpack all components and verify against the parts list.
- Assemble the main frame, connecting posts, runners, and rafters using the provided corrosion-treated fixings.
- Attach the curved decorative braces.
- Secure the pergola firmly to the ground or your existing patio structure as per local building guidelines or manufacturer recommendations.
- Due to its size and weight (170 kg), assembly by at least two people is strongly recommended.
Compatibility:
This pergola is designed for outdoor use on patios, decks, or level garden areas. It is compatible with most garden settings and can be used with various outdoor furniture arrangements. It can also serve as a support structure for climbing plants.
Care:
- Periodically check all fixings for tightness and re-tighten if necessary.
- Clean the timber with a damp cloth and mild soap if needed. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- To prolong the life of the wood, consider applying a suitable wood treatment or sealant annually, especially in harsh climates. This is especially important for the untreated cut ends after assembly.
- Remove any accumulated debris, such as leaves or snow, to prevent excessive weight or moisture retention.
