FAQs

What sizes does this harness come in?

This specific listing is for the Small/Medium size. TRIXIE offers this Premium H-Harness in various sizes, including Extra Extra Small/Extra Small, Medium/Large, Large/Extra Large, and a Large size, each with different dimension ranges.

How do I know if the Small/Medium size will fit my dog?

The Small/Medium size is generally suitable for dogs with a neck circumference of approximately 20cm and an adjustable belly strap range. It's best to measure your dog's neck and chest girth and compare it to the product's specific dimensions.

Can this harness be used for training?

The H-harness design provides good control. While it's not specifically a 'no-pull' harness, its comfortable fit and secure closure can be beneficial during basic obedience training for dogs that do not pull excessively.

Is the Petrol color the only option?

The 'Petrol' color is featured for this specific model. Availability of other colors may vary across different product listings or retailers.

How do I clean the harness?

You can clean the harness using a damp cloth and mild soap. Rinse with clean water and allow it to air dry completely. Avoid machine washing or harsh chemicals.

Is this harness suitable for very active dogs?

Yes, the durable webbing tape and secure fit make it suitable for active dogs, provided it is properly adjusted. However, for extremely high-energy dogs or those with a strong pulling instinct, additional training or specialized equipment might be considered.

What does 'Compliant with animal welfare under Section 18 (AT)' mean?

This means the product has been designed and manufactured to meet specific German animal welfare regulations, ensuring it is safe and comfortable for the animal when used as intended.

Troubleshooting

Harness slips or is loose

Re-adjust the neck and belly straps to be tighter. Ensure the size is appropriate for your dog; if not, consider a different size.

Dog seems uncomfortable or rubs

Check for pinching points or excessive tightness. Ensure straps are adjusted correctly and not twisted. Verify the correct size has been selected.

Buckles are difficult to fasten/unfasten

Ensure the buckles are clean and free of debris. If they feel stiff, gently clean them and ensure they are aligned properly when fastening.

Straps loosen during use

Ensure the adjustment sliders are securely positioned after tightening. If straps repeatedly loosen, inspect the slider mechanism for damage.

The adjustability might require a brief learning curve for initial fitting.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup:

Measure your dog's neck and chest circumference to ensure the Small/Medium size (20cm x 32cm for neck, adjustable belly strap) is appropriate.
Unbuckle the belly strap and place the harness over your dog's head, ensuring the chest strap sits comfortably.
Fasten the two belly strap buckles.
Adjust the neck and belly straps using the sliders until the harness is snug but not tight. You should be able to fit two fingers comfortably between the harness and your dog's body.

Compatibility:

This harness is designed for dogs and is suitable for a range of breeds within the Small/Medium size specifications. Ensure the dimensions match your dog's measurements before purchase.

Care:

Clean the harness with a damp cloth and mild soap if necessary. Avoid harsh detergents.
Allow the harness to air dry completely before storing or using.
Regularly check straps and buckles for signs of wear and tear.
