Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your Harper Living Pendant Ceiling Light performs optimally and remains a beautiful addition to your home, follow these guidelines.
Setup
- Safety First: Always disconnect power at the main circuit breaker before commencing any installation. If you are not confident with electrical wiring, it is highly recommended to consult a qualified electrician.
- Mounting: Secure the ceiling rose firmly to a robust part of your ceiling, such as a joist or suitable anchor points, ensuring it can safely support the light's weight.
- Wiring: Connect the light's electrical wires to your household mains wiring. Follow local electrical codes and the manufacturer's instructions carefully for live, neutral, and earth connections.
- Adjust Height: Before fully securing, adjust the cable length to achieve your desired hanging height (up to a maximum of 140cm). Ensure the cable clamp is tightened securely.
- Install Bulb: Screw in an `E27/ES` bulb. Remember the maximum wattage is 40W. For energy efficiency and longevity, an LED bulb is highly recommended.
- Test: Once all connections are made and the light is securely mounted, restore power and test the light.
Compatibility
- Bulb Type: Requires an `E27/ES` (Edison Screw) bulb.
- Wattage: Maximum 40 Watts. Always use LED bulbs where possible, as they are energy-efficient and help prevent excessive heat buildup.
Care
- Cleaning: Gently dust the metal shades and exterior surfaces with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. For more stubborn marks, lightly dampen the cloth with plain water and wipe carefully. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or solvents, as these can damage the finish.
- Bulb Replacement: Always ensure the power is off and the bulb has completely cooled before attempting to replace it.
- Inspection: Periodically check all mounting points and electrical connections to ensure they remain secure and free from wear or damage.
