Product Information
Full details
The Sonnet Echo II DV is a professional Thunderbolt to PCIe card expansion system designed for creative professionals in the audio and video broadcasting industries. It allows you to connect two demanding DV I/O cards to computers equipped with Thunderbolt 4 or Thunderbolt 3 ports, which lack internal PCIe expansion slots. This rackmount enclosure features two PCIe 3.0 slots, each with its own Thunderbolt interface, providing full bandwidth to each card. It offers 400W of power, with two 75W auxiliary power connectors, capable of supporting power-hungry non-GPU cards like AJA Kona 5 and Blackmagic DeckLink 4K Extreme 12G. The system utilizes dual Noctua fans for ultra-quiet operation (rated at 17 dbA) with temperature-controlled, variable speed. The Thunderbolt 3 interface includes two ports, with independent connections to each card slot, delivering up to 3000 MB/s of PCIe bandwidth with Thunderbolt 4 computers. It is compatible with Apple M-series and Intel Thunderbolt 4 and Thunderbolt 3 computers. Two Thunderbolt cables and two ThunderLok 3 Thunderbolt Connector Retainer Clips are included. For maximum performance with multiple bandwidth-hungry cards, connection to two Thunderbolt ports on the computer is recommended. If your computer has only one Thunderbolt port, the Echo II DV Rackmount can still be used by daisy-chaining the two Thunderbolt interfaces.
