FAQs

Is this filter compatible with models other than Pleatco PSN50L-P4?

This cartridge is designed as a direct replacement for the Pleatco PSN50L-P4. While it may be compatible with other models, it's essential to verify the dimensions (Outer Diameter: 179mm, Length: 357mm) and connection type against your spa's requirements.

How often should I clean this filter cartridge?

It's recommended to rinse the filter with a hose weekly or every few uses. A deeper cleaning with a filter cleaner solution is advisable every 1-3 months, depending on how frequently your spa is used.

What is the expected lifespan of this filter?

With regular cleaning and proper care, this filter cartridge can last between 1 to 2 years. Replace it when you notice significant wear, such as torn pleats or damaged end caps.

Can I use regular tap water to rinse the filter?

Yes, using regular tap water for rinsing is generally sufficient for removing loose debris. For deep cleaning, specific spa filter cleaning solutions are recommended for better removal of oils and biofilm.

What does '50 sq. ft. Filter Area' mean?

This refers to the total surface area of the filter media. A larger filter area (like 50 sq. ft.) means the filter can capture more debris before becoming clogged, leading to more efficient filtration and longer intervals between cleanings.

How does the trilobal fabric improve filtration?

The trilobal fabric has a unique structure with multiple fine fibers, creating a much larger surface area compared to traditional filter materials. This allows it to trap more fine sediment and contaminants effectively while still allowing water to pass through easily.

Troubleshooting

Spa water remains cloudy after filter installation.

Ensure the filter is correctly seated and the spa's circulation system is running. Check if the filter needs an initial rinse or if the spa requires additional chemical balancing.

Reduced water flow from spa jets.

The filter may be clogged. Perform a thorough cleaning. Check for any blockages in the skimmer basket or pump intake.

Filter cartridge appears to be degrading prematurely.

Ensure the spa's chemical levels (e.g., pH, sanitizer) are within the recommended range. Extreme chemical imbalances can damage filter media over time.
