Product Information

Full details

The Aqua Products Tip and Butt Protectors are essential accessories for anglers who prioritize rod safety during transit. Designed for both novice and professional fishermen, these neoprene sleeves provide crucial protection for delicate spigots and tip rings, effectively preventing damage while moving between locations. While they offer excellent protection and seamless integration with Roving and RS quivers, users should note that they are specifically tailored for standard rod configurations and may not accommodate oversized custom rod builds.

FAQs

Can I use these with other rod bags?

While designed for Aqua Products quivers, they can be used with other rods, though the fit may vary depending on the rod diameter.

Does the set include both protectors?

Yes, each purchase includes one tip protector and one butt protector as a pair.

Will these protect against heavy impacts?

They offer excellent protection against scratches and minor knocks, but they are not intended to prevent damage from severe crushing or heavy-weight impacts.

What are the dimensions of the protectors?

The butt protector measures 200mm x 50mm, and the tip protector measures 200mm x 30mm.

Is the material waterproof?

The neoprene is water-resistant, but it is porous and will eventually become saturated if left in standing water.

Troubleshooting

Protector slides off during transit

Ensure the tension strap is pulled tight against the rod blank to create a snug, friction-based fit.

Neoprene feels stiff or dirty

Hand wash with mild soap and cold water, then rinse thoroughly and hang to air dry.

Pros and Cons

Pros

High-quality neoprene material ensures long-lasting durability.
Easy to use strap system allows for rapid setup.
Compact and lightweight for convenient storage.
Provides targeted protection for high-impact areas like tip rings.

Cons

Specifically designed for Aqua quiver systems; may be less secure on other brands.
Limited size options for extremely thick rod butts or non-standard tips.
Neoprene can retain moisture if packed away while wet.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To install, place the wider 200mm x 50mm butt protector over the handle section of your rod and secure the strap firmly. Apply the slimmer 200mm x 30mm protector over the tip section to ensure the rod rings are fully covered. The protectors are fully compatible with the Aqua Products Roving and RS quiver systems. To maintain the neoprene material, rinse with fresh water if exposed to salt or mud, and allow the protectors to air dry completely before storing them in your tackle bag to prevent mildew buildup.
