Setup, Compatibility & Care
Before applying the dye, ensure the timber surface is clean, dry, and free from any waxes or old finishes that might block penetration. Sand the wood progressively up to 180-240 grit for an even surface. Wear gloves and ensure your workspace has cross-ventilation. When applying, use long, smooth strokes following the direction of the grain. If the color is too light after the first coat, apply additional coats once the surface is dry to the touch. Once the desired shade is achieved, it is recommended to seal the wood with a compatible varnish, wax, or oil to protect the finish. Store the container tightly closed in a cool, dry place to prevent solvent evaporation.
