FAQs

What is the recommended age for this puzzle set?

This set is designed for toddlers, typically aged 18 months to 3 years.

Are the textures safe for children who put items in their mouths?

The puzzles are designed for tactile play; however, constant mouthing should be discouraged as the textures and cardboard can be damaged by moisture.

Can I mix pieces from different puzzles in the set?

While it is possible to mix them, the puzzles are designed to fit specifically with their matching set to complete the intended animal image.

How do I distinguish between the four different puzzles?

Each puzzle features a different zoo animal; you can sort pieces by the color and pattern patterns visible on the faces.

Is this compatible with other 'That's Not My...' games?

While it shares the theme and design language, the pieces are unique to this set and do not interlock with other floor puzzles or game sets.

Troubleshooting

Pieces are becoming difficult to fit together

Check the edges for small tears or bent corners; gently flatten any frayed cardboard using a heavy book.

Child is frustrated by the difficulty level

Start with the 2-piece puzzle and assist by placing one piece while encouraging the child to find the matching half.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Supports cognitive development through progressive steps
Tactile textures encourage sensory exploration
Sturdy, chunky pieces are perfect for young children
Highly recognizable and engaging theme for fans of the books

Cons

Textures may wear down with frequent, heavy use
Limited to four specific zoo-themed scenes
Not suitable for children under the recommended age due to small parts in some configurations

Setup, Compatibility & Care

These puzzles require no assembly out of the box, though it is recommended to keep the pieces separated by puzzle set during initial play to prevent confusion. To ensure longevity, store the pieces in a dry location away from direct sunlight. Cleaning should be done sparingly; use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe the surfaces. Avoid submerging the pieces in water or using harsh cleaning chemicals, as this will damage the integrated sensory textures and the cardboard structure.
