Setup, Compatibility & Care
To begin, sow the seeds in small pots using high-quality seed compost, maintaining a constant temperature of 20°C. Once the plants have developed a few sets of leaves, transplant them into their final destination—whether that be a large greenhouse border or a deep container. Compatibility is highest in environments with good airflow and ample sunlight. Care involves daily monitoring; the compost must remain consistently moist but never waterlogged. As the fruits form, ensure you are feeding the plants regularly with a high-potash fertilizer to encourage fruit swelling and prevent development stalls.
